It’s difficult to feel at home in a medical environment or clinic, particularly if you feel ill. The accurate balance of a professional and sterile environment with that of warmth and friendliness is not easy to achieve. Some clinics try to create this type of setting with soft lights and inviting rooms but fall short of this goal because their personnel don’t fit the match. In a typical medical setting, the doctors and nurses are very busy and may even be short staffed. This can result in behavior that is portrayed as rude, short, uncaring and cold by the patient. While most medical staff do not intend on coming across this way, it is important for them to realize these assumptions exist and can directly affect the clinic’s bottom line for future referrals and repeat business. The Florida Urgent Care clinic, located on 9500 Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs deserves applause for the “over the top” service they give to their patients. Aside from the environment being warm and professional, the attitude and personality of the staff is what sets this clinic apart from the others. Dr. Jeffrey Miller D.O. was described as being, “respectful and gentle while treating me like a person instead of just another patient”. The person who nominated the clinic and doctor compared his experience to that of a small town doctor in the goodold days when they didn’t mind sitting down with you to find out more information regarding your health while giving you ample time to ask questions. Nowadays, it isn’t uncommon to find the nurse asking most of the questions to the patient with the doctor making a two- minute stop in the room to write a prescription while barely making eye contact with the patient.
The service offered by Florida Urgent Care is so revered by this particular patient, that he would rather use them for his personal, primary doctor than go to a traditional practice. For a business that specializes in general urgent medical care, this clinic focuses on the right factors to bring in people such as this patient who trust them enough to be their primary care provider.
Remember to match your staff’s personality to the environment in which you are offering your customers. By focusing on friendly and personable demeanors, you are able to warm up even the most sterile environments.
